Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: June 1, 2026
This policy sets out the rules and standards for using EcoFiberX internet services in a way that is safe, lawful, and respectful of other users.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of EcoFiberX internet services. It is designed to protect the integrity of our network, safeguard other customers, and ensure compliance with Nigerian and international law.
This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the EcoFiberX Terms of Service. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use EcoFiberX services to:
Illegal Content & Activity
• Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harmful under Nigerian law
• Distribute, store, or access child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — violations will be reported immediately to law enforcement
• Engage in fraud, identity theft, phishing, or other deceptive practices
Network Abuse
• Deliberately degrade the service of other users through excessive bandwidth consumption, DoS/DDoS attacks, or port scanning
• Operate open mail relays, spam campaigns, or botnets
• Conduct unauthorised penetration testing against third-party systems or our own infrastructure without written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, network, or account
Intellectual Property
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any person or entity through piracy, unauthorised file sharing, or distribution of copyrighted material
Commercial Resale
• Resell or share your EcoFiberX subscription with third parties outside your household or business premises without a valid Reseller Agreement
3. Content Standards
Any content transmitted over our network must comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, including the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015 and the NCC's consumer code of practice.
We do not actively monitor the content of your communications; however, we may investigate and act on reports of AUP violations.
4. Bandwidth & Fair Use
All EcoFiberX plans are unlimited with no data caps. However, we operate a fair use principle to ensure equitable access for all subscribers.
In rare cases where a single user's activity materially degrades the experience of a significant number of other users on the same network segment during peak hours, we reserve the right to temporarily apply traffic management measures. We will notify affected subscribers and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue before any permanent action is taken.
5. Reporting Violations
To report an AUP violation — including abuse, spam, illegal content, or network attacks — contact our Network Operations Centre:
Email: hello@ecofiberx.com
Phone: +234 201 888 3790 (24/7 NOC)
We investigate all reports promptly and take appropriate action, which may include notifying law enforcement where required.
6. Consequences of Violations
Violation of this AUP may result in:
• Immediate suspension or termination of your service without refund
• Removal of any content that violates this policy
• Reporting to relevant Nigerian regulatory bodies or law enforcement authorities
• Civil or criminal legal action where applicable
We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, what constitutes a violation of this AUP.
7. Amendments
We may update this AUP at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
